Intro Fight Fire With Fire Ride the Lightning Phantom Lord The Four Horsemen Cliff Solo For Whom the Bell Tolls No Remorse Fade to Black (cut) Seek and Destroy Whiplash Creeping Death Am I Evil? Motorbreath QUALITY: This show starts out pretty rough, you can barely hear the intro. Fight Fire and Ride fade in and out. Not sure if it is due to the taper trying to get into position or if it was the quality of the tape used. Things tend to improve towards the end of Ride, but not much. Lots of mic adjustments which causes static on the recording. Truely this is best left for die-hard collectors. During Phantom Lord it sounds like the taper is getting bounced around and is in the pit. The taper completely gives up taping and jumps in the pit during Creeping Death. People scream into his mic, sing along, etc. pretty much takes the recording to a whole new level. In fact there's a conversation such as: Dude: "Aren't you taping?" Taper:"Yeah I'm recording the whole thing" Taper:"It's going to sound like shit, but I don't care" Priceless... SOURCE: unknown mics > unknown recorder TRANSFER: unknown gen cassette > Creative Soundblaster Audigy Platinum > Goldwave > CDWAVE > WAV (transferred by Jeff S.) TIME: CORRECT SHOW: Yes, James says Seattle a few times. FLAWS: There is a cut in Fade due to tape flip. BAND PERFORMANCE: Crushing performance as always. The crowd sounds really rowdy, in fact towards the end James yells at some guy for setting off a fire extinguisher. Cliff talks before Fade to Black, always great to hear recordings that capture him saying things to the crowd.
