Last Caress One Battery > Fight Fire with Fire > Ride the Lightning > Trapped Under Ice jams Stone Cold Crazy QUALITY: Really nice quality on this one. Hard to believe that it is an analog master. Some DAT recordings from 2003 don't sound this nice. Taper did a nice job, nice balance of instruments, music is fairly up close. There is a tab bit of crowd chatter which isn't too bad, and is really minor compared to the over all recording. Nice all around capture of Metallica in 1992 SOURCE: unknown mic > unknown DAT TIME: 153 minutes CORRECT SHOW: Yes, Mannheim is said several times. FLAWS: A few drops here and there from the tape flips from me transferring it from cassette to CDR, and also from the recording itself. Very minor, but just wanted to call them out here. BAND PERFORMANCE: Nice performance again by Metallica. The band seems to be in a good mood. As with nearly all German shows, the crowd is very into it. This is really a nice listen, the recording quality is good, the band is in on, the crowd is energetic. All in all a good night in Mannheim. Funny at the end Lars and Kirk apparently want to finish off playing Ride the Lightning with the teaser jams before Stone Cold Crazy.
